Club Updates

Elections 2013-’14!

Morgan Israel:

I would like to be the Event Coordinator because it applies to my major, which is event management. This would be a great opportunity for me to build my experience in this career. Also, I want to get more involved in the club because it’s my favorite club on campus and I LOVE SNOWBOARDING! I am hard working and ready to put in all the effort for this position. I am good at working with others and I already have knowledge on how to plan events. Learning more about the club and being more involved with one of the biggest clubs at Iowa State will be a great experience.

Bradley Daniel:

I would like to apply to be either Club Promotion I or II. I think that I would be a good fit because I am in design.  I have experience using Photoshop & Illustrator, as well as creating posters/advertisements.  As for Club Promotion II, I’d be as excited to spread the word about trips, events and snocials.  Also, this year i have already attended basically every event, and i plan to be at all events next year.  Look forward to next season and hopefully being an exec!

Matthew Boley:

I am applying for the club promotion 1 position.  Currently, I am a freshman in pre-graphic design and hoping to minor in advertising so I feel that this position directly relates to my aspirations as a designer.  I’ve done a couple designs and shirts for clubs all ready including high school triathlon associations as well as habitat for humanity fundraisers.  I can use most of the Adobe and CAD design programs to help with designing various things.

Lauren Iversen:

I am Lauren Iversen, a sophomore in Landscape Architecture, and I would like to be the next Event Coordinator or Club Promo I. This is my second year in the club, this past year I served on the Exec Board, so I understand how the club works very well and have some great ideas for next year! I also have been on the race team for the past two years. My favorite activity is, of course, SNOWBOARDING! I have snowboarded for 5 years and skied for 10 and some of my favorite memories are with the ski club trips. I have worked in Photoshop and Illustrator, and have been in charge of organizing other trips and events on campus so I would make a dope candidate for either position!

Michael Kernan:

I would like to take on the position of Club Promotion II because I would like to get more involved in the club and possible work my way up to VP or president someday.  Club Promotion II seems like a great position for me to start learning how the club functions while at the same time I will be able to promote my favorite club on campus.  I am more than willing to put the required amount of office time in as well as working with other execs to do my job to its full potential.  I am a hard worker and absolutely love snowboarding so this will be more fun than it is work.  I also know how to use all the social media websites, so that portion of the position shouldn’t be a problem.

Alex Rover: Event Coordinator

My name is Alex Rover and I have been a member of the ISU Ski and Snowboard Club and the ISU Ski and Snowboard Race Team for the past two years. This past year I have had the privilege of serving as the Event Coordinator for the club. I have loved serving Event Coordinator on the executive board and I would like to run for and hopefully become the Event Coordinator for yet another year. I have a great deal of knowledge about the position. I know what it takes to be a great Event Coordinator, and I know what it takes to build relationships with local businesses and restaurant owners so that we can have the best snocials and events for all of our members. If I am elected I would like to make some changes in the places of our events so that we can spice things up a bit. I would also like to plan a few more events for our members so that we can all have some fun, get involved, and everyone can see what this amazing club has to offer. College is about having fun, snowboarding and skiing in as much powder as possible, and meeting new people. That’s what this club is all about and as your new Event Coordinator I would make sure that all of those things could happen. I truly feel that this club is the best club on campus and I am fully committed to doing everything in my power as Event Coordinator to keep it that way.

Alex Rover: Club Promo II

My name is Alex Rover and I have been a member of the ISU Ski and Snowboard Club and the ISU Ski and Snowboard Race Team for the past two years. This past year I have served as the Event Coordinator for the club. It has been an honor to serve on the executive board and I would love to have that honor for another year. I think that I have everything it takes and then some to be the Ski and Snowboard Club’s new Club Promo 2. For the past year, along with being Event Coordinator for this club, I have served as the Public Relations committee chairman for my fraternity. I extended our Facebook reach to over one thousand people in just one month and expanded our twitter reach by over 150 followers. I know what it takes to reach the population. I would be psyched to be able to grow this club’s reach and gain some numbers so that we can have better events and better trips in the future. If I’m voted as Club Promo 2, none of you will ever go uninformed. Communication is key and I never want any of you to miss out on awesome events and delicious free food ever again. It would be my pleasure to do everything that I could as Club Promo 2 to make this club better for all of you and eventually make all of you stoked and happier to be a part of this awesome club.
